Nathan Batchelder

Director of Public Affairs & Community Partnerships

    

Nathan Batchelder has been working in the intersection of local government, politics, and government affairs in the Denver Metro region and beyond for more than 15 years. He is most passionate about the nexus of land use, housing, and transportation and how they intertwine to strengthen the economy and our quality of life.

Nathan worked as legislative staff for four different city councilmembers in San Diego and Denver. In Denver, Nathan served as a policy aide for former Denver Councilwoman Judy Montero and Councilman Chris Nevitt, where he worked on several high-profile rezoning, land use, and transportation projects.

After working for Denver City Council, Nathan served as Legislative Analyst for the City of Denver’s Excise and Licenses Department, where he spearheaded several major regulatory initiatives. Nathan was also the Director of External Affairs for Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), where he sharpened his experience working in state legislation and regulatory reform.

As the Director of Public Affairs and Community Partnerships for CRL Associates, Nathan helps clients in both the private and public sector navigate the unique art of public decision making at the local government level. His clients include real estate developers, transportation firms, corporate entities, and public agencies.

Nathan earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in political institutions from California State University San Marcos and a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in local government from the University of Colorado Denver. He serves as Board Treasurer for Smart Commute Metro North and as a Board of Director for the Adams County Regional Economic Partnership.
