Zach Pruter
Zach Pruter is a Government Affairs Coordinator at CRL Associates, where he supports the firm’s public affairs and government relations work through policy research, legislative monitoring, stakeholder outreach, and strategic client support. He is especially interested in how public policy, local government, and community engagement intersect to shape decision-making and long-term outcomes across Colorado.
Before joining CRL Associates, Zach interned with the Colorado Governor’s Office in the Boards and Commissions Office, where he gained firsthand experience in the inner workings of state government and the appointment process for public boards and commissions across Colorado. His work supported a wide range of functions, from board and member data management to candidate research and appointment coordination, giving him a strong foundation in public sector operations, governance, and the administrative processes that help state institutions function effectively.
Zach also served as a Research Intern with the newDemocracy Foundation in Sydney, Australia, where he explored questions related to democratic engagement, citizens’ assemblies, and the risks artificial intelligence poses to elections. That experience gave him the opportunity to study public policy and political communication in an international context, broadening his perspective on how different political systems approach civic participation, public trust, and emerging democratic challenges.
As a Denver native, Zach cares deeply about the future of his hometown and is passionate about contributing to the policies and decisions that help Colorado communities grow and thrive. That commitment led him to earn his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
